The marketing trends for the week of November 9, 2026 come down to five stories. Shoppers who arrive from AI assistants are worth 83% more per visit than other visitors. Google AI Mode now offers booking links for home service pros. Reddit is testing ads inside its search results. Google widened its AI disclosure rules for ads. And TikTok pulled its brand protection tools into one place.
I read the original reporting on each one and wrote down what I would actually do about it. If you run a small business, or you answer for growth at a bigger one, each story changes one of three things: where a customer first meets you, what it costs to be there, or what you owe the platform to stay there.
What you will learn this week
- Why shoppers sent by AI assistants are converting better than almost every other source
- How Google AI Mode now books home service pros, and what that means if you are one
- What Reddit's new search ads say about where product research is headed
- What Google's wider AI ad label rules mean if you use AI to make creative
- How TikTok's new brand safety center helps you protect your name and images

Shoppers sent by AI are worth 83% more per visit, and the gap is growing
Adobe looked at more than 1 trillion visits to U.S. retail sites in September 2026 and found something that would have sounded silly a year ago. Visitors sent by AI assistants generated 83% more revenue per visit than everyone else. That is the biggest gap Adobe has recorded this year. In August 2025, those same visits converted 9% worse than regular traffic. Now they convert 90% better.
The behavior backs it up. AI-referred visitors spent 73% more time on site, viewed 25% more pages, and added products to their carts at a 53% higher rate. AI traffic grew 71% year over year. Adobe expects the revenue-per-visit edge to double over the holidays, and it forecasts AI traffic up 159% on Thanksgiving, 95% on Black Friday and 88% on Cyber Monday.
The second half of the report is the part I would hand to every business owner. Adobe scored how much of a page AI systems can actually read and cite. The average U.S. retail homepage came in at 63%, which means over a third of its content is not readily visible to AI. Electronics sites scored best at 79%, helped by setup guides, troubleshooting articles and detailed specs. Adobe says product details, buying guides, FAQs and return policies are the pages AI is most likely to find and recommend. That is the practical core of generative engine optimization, and I break down the mechanics in How Does GEO Work.
One caution. This is retail data, and it describes how good AI traffic is, not how much of it you get. Open your analytics, filter for referrals from AI assistants, and see where you stand before you plan around anyone else's average.
Key takeaways
- AI visits are no longer the weak channel. Adobe puts the September revenue per visit gap at 83%.
- AI traffic is forecast to jump 159% on Thanksgiving, with the revenue edge expected to double over the holidays.
- Pages that explain things get found: product details, buying guides, FAQs and return policies.
- Check your own analytics for AI referrals now, before holiday volume muddies the picture.

Google AI Mode now books home service pros
Google's Robby Stein announced that AI Mode now shows direct links to book home services through Angi, Thumbtack, Housecall Pro and Jobber in the U.S. ServiceTitan is coming soon. Stein used his own house as the example. A sewer line backed up, he asked AI Mode for help, and it compared local prices, checked reviews and recommended plumbers based on his situation. He booked one. The plumber came out and fixed it.
Search Engine Land points out what Google did not say. There is no explanation of how AI Mode selects or ranks providers. It is unclear whether a business has to use one of the four booking partners to show up. And it is unclear where the customer finishes the booking.
Here is where I land. Google has not shared the ranking recipe, so I will not guess at it. But the example Google chose leaned on reviews and local pricing, and both are things you control. If you are a plumber, electrician, roofer or HVAC company, the first impression may now happen inside an AI answer before anyone sees your website. Make sure your Google Business Profile is complete, your reviews are recent, and your services and price ranges are spelled out on your site. If you already list on one of the four partner platforms, check that profile too. My Local SEO Checklist covers the basics.
Key takeaways
- AI Mode now shows booking links through Angi, Thumbtack, Housecall Pro and Jobber, with ServiceTitan coming.
- Google has not explained how it chooses which providers to recommend.
- Google's own example used reviews and local pricing, so keep both current.
- If you list on one of the named platforms, make sure that profile is complete and accurate.

Reddit starts testing ads inside its search results
On November 3, Reddit said it is testing ads on its search results pages. A select group of eligible advertisers can show ads that use Reddit's existing targeting, including how closely the ad matches the search. Reddit's examples: search for "espresso station" and you might see espresso machines, coffee beans or mugs. Search for "home office setup" and you might see monitors, desks or office chairs.
Reddit calls its search pages high in purchase and search intent. Social Media Today adds the backdrop, which is that Reddit's overall search traffic is dropping as Google's AI features answer more questions right on the results page. Reddit has not said how many advertisers are in the test or when it might widen. It is also not Reddit's first try. The company tested AI shopping carousels in search back in February.
For a small business, I would not move budget on a test with no results to look at. But Reddit is where plenty of people go to ask which product to buy and who to trust, so read what folks ask in your category right now. That is free research. If search ads open up, you will already know the questions. For the paid side of social, my paid social advertising guide is a good place to start.
Key takeaways
- Reddit is testing search ads with a limited group of advertisers, matched to the search.
- There is no data yet on cost, results or rollout timing.
- Reddit threads still shape product research, so read the questions people ask in your category.
- Do not move budget on a test. Do put it on your watch list.

Google widens its AI disclosure rules for ads
Google Ads expanded the places where advertisers have to say whether AI was used in their ads. According to Search Engine Roundtable, California, South Korea and Vietnam now join a list that already included the European Union, India and New York.
A quick refresher on how it works. Google started rolling out its AI label setting in July. If you build an ad with Google's own generative AI tools, the disclosure is applied for you. If you made the image or video somewhere else, you apply the label yourself with a new control. The disclosure shows up under "How this ad was made" in My Ad Center, and depending on the region it can also appear right on the ad. Google has also said that using the setting alone does not guarantee you are compliant with local rules.
I am not a lawyer, so check with yours if you run ads in these places. The practical side is simple. Keep a running note of which ads used AI and which tool made them. Decide who on your team makes the label call, instead of leaving it to whoever uploads the creative at the last minute. For outside tools, it is an honor system, so the honesty falls on you.
Key takeaways
- California, South Korea and Vietnam join the EU, India and New York on Google's disclosure list.
- Ads made with Google's AI tools are labeled for you. With outside tools, you apply the label.
- Google says the label setting alone does not guarantee legal compliance.
- Track which creative used AI so you can answer the question fast.

TikTok puts its brand protection tools in one place
TikTok introduced a brand safety center, a brand protection playbook and a guide called AI safety essentials. The guide covers responsible AI-powered advertising and was developed with the consultancy Responsible Marketing Advisory. Marketing-Interactive reports that TikTok introduced the package at its APAC Responsible Media Forum in Singapore, with about 30 people from brands, agencies and partners in the room.
Most of this builds on tools TikTok already had. A feature in Business Center called TikTok market scope brand perception shows the volume and sentiment of conversations around your brand, and the topics tied to it. Brands can report suspected copyright and trademark infringement through TikTok's reporting channels. Rights holders selling through TikTok Shop can flag possibly infringing listings in its Intellectual Property Protection Center.
Nothing flashy here. But I sell original photography as canvas prints, so I know how fast an image can get copied once it is online. If your brand has a logo, product photos or a name people can knock off, find the reporting pages now. You do not want to be hunting for them while a fake listing sits there collecting sales.
Key takeaways
- TikTok now has a brand safety center, a brand protection playbook and an AI safety guide for advertisers.
- A brand perception tool in Business Center shows the volume and tone of conversations about you.
- Copyright and trademark reports go through TikTok's reporting channels, and TikTok Shop has its own IP center.
- Bookmark the reporting pages before you need them.
Frequently asked questions
What are the top marketing trends for the week of November 9, 2026?
Five stories stand out. Adobe found shoppers sent by AI assistants generate 83% more revenue per visit. Google AI Mode added booking links for home services. Reddit began testing ads in search results. Google widened the regions where advertisers must disclose AI use in ads. TikTok introduced a brand safety center and brand protection resources.
Is AI traffic really worth more than regular website traffic?
For U.S. retail in September 2026, Adobe says yes. AI-referred visits produced 83% more revenue per visit and converted 90% better than non-AI visits. That is retail data and it measures quality, not volume. Check your own analytics for referrals from AI assistants before you assume the same holds for your site.
How does Google AI Mode affect local service businesses?
AI Mode now shows booking links for home services through Angi, Thumbtack, Housecall Pro and Jobber, with ServiceTitan coming. Google has not explained how it picks providers. Keep your Google Business Profile complete, your reviews recent, and your services and pricing clear on your website.
Do I have to label ads made with AI?
It depends on where you run ads and which tools you use. Google has expanded its disclosure list to include California, South Korea and Vietnam, joining the EU, India and New York. Ads built with Google's AI tools are labeled automatically, while outside tools need the label applied by you. Google says the setting alone does not guarantee compliance, so ask a lawyer if you advertise in those regions.
Should a small business advertise on Reddit search?
Not yet. Reddit is testing search ads with a select group of advertisers and has shared no performance data or rollout date. The smarter move today is to read what people in your category ask on Reddit, then decide if paid placement makes sense once the format opens up.
Conclusion
Put the five stories side by side and you see the same thing from five angles. Customers start in more places than they used to, whether that is an AI assistant, an AI Mode answer, a Reddit search or a TikTok feed. Each place has its own rules, its own costs and its own way of deciding who gets seen.
You do not need to chase all of it. Pick one move this week. Check your analytics for AI referrals. Tighten your Google Business Profile. Spend twenty minutes reading Reddit threads in your category. Start a simple log of which ads used AI. Bookmark TikTok's reporting pages. Any one of those beats waiting for the perfect plan.
